yesturday was super saturday for me. i had a good time, but that meant that they boys were home by themselves for 4 hours. i wasn't worried about them. they seemed to have a good time. they hung out a little at home.
the above picture was actually taken friday evening. but i wanted to put it on here because sometimes when sterling watches a show he will lay down. or sometimes he sits there or stand in front of the tv.
so back to saturday. they went fishing too.
andrew called sterling his good luck charm. they also raked the leaves up. not all of them since there are still more to fall. just the ones under the maple trees in the corner where most of the leaves were off the trees.
when i got home sterling down for a nap, so i quickly tried to fit one in too. once he woke up, we went outside to pick up the leaves.
i took some pictures during all the work. andrew said it took him like 20 mins to get these leaves into a big pile. sterling liked helping. he would "rake" and run through them.
he prefers the nice rake. if you don't let him have it then he will follow you around trying to grab it. so i gave up and gave it to him....
but that's not the way he likes it. he likes to have it upside down. so he would pull the rake around and if leaves got on the rake he would stop and take them off.
drowning in leaves.
we took a few family ones with the timer on the camera. i just put it on the bummer of the truck. we use the truck to haul the leaves to the compost pile behind the dairy barn. it took us three truck loads to get all the leaves over there. on the second trip back for more leaves, i sat in the bed of the truck with sterling. he seemed to like that a lot. so, on the last trip, sterling wanted to sit back there again. i had gone into the house to get ready to go to polson. andrew said that he sat where he could see him and didn't want to get out when andrew parked the truck.
once everyone was changed into cleaner clothes and ready to go, we went to polso for bowling and pizza. thanks to dale, andrew's coworker, for winning the tickets for us. we were able to have a good family outing without too much out of our pockets.
bowling: $9.50 (would've been $16)
pizza: $8. 28 (would've been 18.28)
trip to walmart: priceless, but only because i can't remember how much we spent. it wasn't much.
we weren't sure how sterling would do bowling, but decided that we go anyway. we had tickets that gave us a free game for two people. he stood and waited for the ball to be returned and then he would roll it to the back...
andrew's turn. look at that form! twice sterling pressed the reset button after andrew let go of his ball. he did get in trouble, both he and andrew. andrew got strikes both times, which of course resulted in an unfair score. sterling did pretty good for the first game, but started to get restless during the second.
bowling makes you hungery so we headed to pizza hut. we had a coupon for a free med one topping pizza (thanks dale!). we added bread sticks, pop and another topping. sterling finally mastered drinking through a straw.
after we stopped by walmart to get some things for our sister in law's birthday gift and some for sale sign for raymond equipment that andrew doesn't want parked on our property anymore. it was an enjoyable day for all.
