we started the month out with a bang! sunday march 3rd at about 7.30 the power went out. we were just wrapping up family home evening so we could get the kids in bed. it didn't just flicker like it does, sometimes. it was out for about an hour and half.
below, you can see sterling, in the kitchen with a flashlight and the candles on the counter. (we need more candles and flashlights.)
when talking with others the next sunday about what they did when the power went out; there were all kinds of responses. the leishman's talked about zombies. the schocks read scriptures (many did this) and talked about electricity. we just got our kids in bed as fast as we could between the fighting over flashlights. some people also thought about their preparedness for emergencies.
we have gotten some snow this month too. sterling still likes to eat it. poor buzz.
we had some warm days and so the kids could go out and play. on this day, march 4, we had just gotten home from picking sterling up at school. i had come inside and left the kids outside. then i saw the wic folder on the counter.....shoot! we have an appt in like 10 mins. we barley made it on time. i had to strip quincey's bottom half because of her playing in the puddle. sterling was a little wet on one pant leg, but i didn't bother me or him.
on march 6th, i got quincey dressed. in her nice purple gap dress with green leggings. but she pulled her fancy church dress down off the hanger and wanted it on. so above is what we got. she wore it like that for a bit and then took the dress off.
taken march 19
the children love it. thank you mom and dad!
march 11: sterling likes to fall asleep in the hall. while i don't like the habit, he has gotten really good at falling asleep fast while in the hall. on this night, he used his pillowcase as a sleeping bag.
march 15, quincey fell down while playing outside. i knew she was playing with kitty and when i heard her crying, i went out to see why. they had been playing by the grain panels and i thought for sure she had followed kitty under them and i would have to pull her out. just like i had to with sterling. ugh!
as i rounded the corner, there she was on the ground. sterling didn't help her up! there were two dark lines coming from her nose. i thought she had hit it and how had blood streaming down...no, it was just snot and dirt. phew! i picked her up, gave her a hug and sent it on her way. her nose was a little red, but not too noticeable, though it was tender.
saturday, march 16. her nose started to scab. ouch! monday, march 19. she's got a good scab there. thought it's staring the peel on the edges, so i know that she will be without it soon.
march 18th: all i wanted to do was lay down while quincey was alseep and before i had to make dinner. so i got sterling some toast but left him to butter it. i found it on the floor when i got up. he picked it up and finished eating it. i had to take a picture of his buttering job. i didn't get much rest. thanks sterling. may your children be just like you!
