Christmas 2013

This year we got asked a lot if we would be traveling for Christmas or any of the holidays. We always said no. We did considered it, but then we remember that we have a little baby and traveling with young children is hard as it is, adding a few month old baby just adds hours. It makes me tired just thinking about it!

Sterling and Quincey's last day of school was the 19th. They will be home full time for the next 17 days. They don't seem to know that they are on vacation, other than they are home all day. They still get up at the same time. We do put them to bed at the same time too.

Christmas eve we had the Leishman family over (Mary and the kids plus Aaron). We had a full menu. Turkey, stuffing, potatoes, rolls, fruit and green salad, glazed carrots, banana coconut cream pie and chocolate cream pie. We had a good time visiting, watching Quincey act silly in the kitchen and making Andrew hold Carlee since he was the one who visited with Aaron the most.

I had to get creative with the turkey. It was 25lbs, which is huge! We got it from headstart. I borrowed Mary's roasting pan and didn't think about it not fitting! I got it all prepped and put it in...it was too big! Carlee was crying so I washed myself up and fed her. While thinking about what to do with the turkey. I finally ended up cutting it in half. It fit, though the lid wasnt quite snug.

Poor Landry, Quincey wouldn't leave him alone! He even went to the bathroom and she was there hanging on the door trying to get in! He plays really well with her and she always gives him a hug when she see him.

After our guests left we got our kids ready for bed. Brush teeth, swaddling clothes, read books,  and in bed some what on time. Which I was a little amazed at. But they didn't seem really excited about Christmas....that is until Christmas morning when we asked them if we should go and see if they got any gifts. Then they just couldn't hold still! Andrew got the camera so that we could get their reactions on camera. We weren't going to to make them wait forever like my parents do.

Sterling loved looking for his name so we made him pass out the gifts. He really liked his pjs- red and grey fleece with T-Rex on the front from Carter's. Also the wooden snake that he bought for Quincey and the fishing game that he got from nana and papa. From my parents, he really liked the farm set and the super hero clothes.

Quincey didn't seem too interested in any of her gifts until she opened her stroller. She pushed it around and around and around. She even started sitting in it, but she ribbed part of the seat, so we had to start getting after about sitting in her stroller. She liked her food and dishes from nana and papa. The farm from grandma and grandpa is still a source of contenction!

Carlee didn't get so many gifts since she's only 2 months old.  Andrew and I are enjoying our new tv and bluray player. We got a new tent which we are excited to try out. I got a laminator and Andrew got a crockpot for work from my parents.
