swing set

i am so sorry that it has taken me so long to get this post up! because of the way that my new camera loads the pictures up, it kind of makes it a little hard to find pictures BUT they are loaded into files according to the date taken. anyway…here is the swing set that andrew finally got around to making for the kids.

the total height is 14 feet. it will be buried into the ground 2 feet. he made the A frame on the ground and then lifted it up to lean one against the shop and the other one is tied to the stairs, as seen below. sure it wasn't the safest set up…. but the kids seemed to understand to stay away.

sorry this one is so dark!

check out those awesome welding skills!

he had to walk the top bar up the stairs in order to get it on the outside A frame. then since we wanted a little over hang to put another swing, so we had to walk the A frame in a little. all this work was a little tense. once we got it where we wanted it, it was time to weld everything into place!

setting up the welder. it wasn't long enough to reach all the way to the top so andrew had to lift it up a little…..

then in order to weld the outside A frame, we put it on the trailer….welders are heavy! so just about the same set up as above, just on the trailer.

since andrew used the 4wheeler, the kids had to get on it too. then i made them get off while andrew was welding and the spray was going farther than i expected.

we pulled/ pushed the set and then andrew finally got the truck to help pull it to where we wanted it. andrew dug four holes and then sterling helped him fill them with cement. he even got to put his handprint in the cement!

we ended up moving the baby swing to the outside and the green swing to the inside. we plan on putting a skateboard swing in the other spot…as soon as we find a skateboard. we also have to put the slide on.

there was a little debate as to where to put the swing set. we ended up putting in the weeds because nothing else is there and we don't care if they wear it ground down under the swings or whatever over there. i can also see them from the house.
