birth day

so i guess i better write this down...even though it was over a week ago. or three months... i checked in to madison memorial hospital at 7.30am on friday jan 16, 2009. they broke my water at 8. i was dialated to a 3, i think. i was having concractions, but nothing too major or painful, yet. they started my antiboctics and i got the pit (potocin) about 9.30. this helped things along. by noon i wanted an epiadural. they had me wait a little....longer than i thought. i finally got it about 1. i was dialated to a 4 and almost all the way thinned out, by the time he was done i was at a 9 1/2cm!! those concrations during the process where hard. since i was fine and sterling was fine. they left us alone for a while. i started to push, before dr barton got there, much to my mom's surprise. sterling was born at 3.01pm, 20 inches, 8 lbs 5 oz. they left us alone again for 3 hours before they came to get me up for my shower and give sterling a bath. i had my dinner, already but not for long. though i jsut got out of bed. they just should've made me sit there for a while. really. i was fine, until i was in the bathroom. i passed out, worrying my mom. they got me up and back in bed with oxygen. they made me drink some OJ which hit my stomach like a rock...not good. up i brought up everything i had eaten. with some more rest. they came back to get me up and finally get sterling his bath, and move me over to the mom/baby unit. i didn't get my shower until saturday. i got the last room in the unit. there were some women who got to stay the night in labor and delivery. now i need mom to tell me what i'm missing. sterling is asleep and i hope he stays that way so i can nap.
