birthday parties

sterling's 2nd birthday (jan 16th) fell on a sunday this year. that's ok, her still wore his birthday boy shirt to church. matt and yvette were still here and helped us celebrate it.

we had brownies and ice cream with hot fudge. we have three choices for ice cream: tillamook grandma's cake batter (shown above), mint brownie and vanilla.

digging right in. i think he liked the ice cream better.

gifts! he got: clothes and a trike from mom and dad. woody and RC from the stones (see last picture). a sled from the jensen's. a book (it's my birthday) with an apron and a birthday record book from the hainsworth's.

then a week later, on jan 22nd, sterling had another birthday party. this time it was a friend party. he invited everyone from his nursery class plus a couple family friends. so the leishman's, couture's, thomas' where there.

to save me time, i let the kids decorate their cupcakes. sure they made a mess, but that means that i didn't have to frost them before and come up with some activity to keep them busy.
