flooding

i told my MIL that i would get these pictures up this week. well, it's been almost a week since it happened....sorry nancy. last monday, it was suppose to rain, again. so we hurried and mowed most of the lawn during the day and then that evening it started. the clouds rolled in, the wind picked up (so glad i mowed the front yard so that i wouldn't have to pick up the sticks in order to mow), hail came down. i don't know what kind of hail montana normally gets, but this was twice the size of what i've normally seen. then it started to rain and hail. i didn't think that could happen, but there it was.

we stepped outside, under the carport, to show sterling the hail etc. andrew noticed that the water seemed to coming out of the gutter and not down the spout. oh no! the water was ice cold and andrew tried unclog the spouts but that's hard when it's so cold. he ended up loosing the screws so that clog could pass. i made the dam downstairs with towels etc while andrew was out in the rain and hail. sterling was watching spongebob during all of this.

here's the damage:

east side of the food room

the window that let the water in. it's on the south side of the food room.

west side. the guest bedroom is on the other side of this wall.

east side of the mud room. the window leaked a little and crack leaked too.

the guest bedroom. yes, that is the new unlaid carpet.

guest bedroom closet. it is on the west side of the house. there is a closet in the main room that is on the other side of this closet. it also got a little wet, but not enough that i took a picture of it.

this is the second time this has happened since we moved in. the last time was in the fall. i think it was sept. anyway, the men want carpet in the basement. the women, don't. we'll see who wins. what do you think????

Gosh, that does not look like fun. I'm sorry you've had to worry about flooding in your basement. Hopefully you can get everything fixed so you don't have to worry about that anymore.
