dairy barn

it actually is the milking parlor, but all the same. the jensen's used to have dairy many many years ago. it has been like 26 years (nancy correct me, if i'm wrong) since they sold their cows. garr and nancy thought about turning it into a guest house, but that would take a lot of money. so most likely it will get torn down. it is standing in the way of us getting internet though SKC. which would be really nice. but there it sits. the jensen's even kept chicken in it for awhile.

below is the front room:

below is the second room: the cows came in on your left and went into a stall to be milked. they could milk 5 cows at a time. they also go their grain at this time, so they were more willing to go into the stall. then they existed on the right.

we still have cow stalls in the sheds. also calf stalls. maybe one day it will all be gone.

this is what is behind the dairy barn. you can see some siding for a grain bin, the bucket for the yellow tractor that caught fire (when andrew was in high school), an old hay rake and an old manure spreader. plus a calf shed in the back.
