4 years old

sterling's birthday this year was one that almost didn't happen. between the end of afternoon naps and dinnertime his mood changed and i almost bagged the whole thing and went to bed.

you see. it started last weekend. andrew started feeling sick on saturday. so he rested all weekend. monday, he went back to work. that was the same day that i started to feel sick. it wasn't a good day, since sterling stayed home sick from school and quincey also had a cold.

tues was better. sterling went back to school and i was able to rest more with having just quincey at home.

wed. it was sterling's fourth birthday and it was going to be a good one...except i spent the day being horribly sick again. worse than monday. i was coughing, sneezing, just wanting to be in bed kind of sick. oh my! that sounds like an ad for cold medicine! so, the only thing that i had done was put up his toy story banner because i had gotten up with quincey and couldn't fall back asleep. i didn't get his gifts wrapped and though i threw dinner together, you wouldn't have guessed it at all. which is wonderful. i made some lemon poppyseed muffins (boxed), waffles, raspberry syrup, whip cream and hash browns (dried). andrew couldn't believe how little i had done, so i few his gifts in some bags while andrew got the candles and the ice cream out.

i should mention sterling's mood again. he was in a good mood when he got home from school. he visited with nancy on the phone and he watched a show while quincey and i napped. then he was in a bad mood. sure i told him he couldn't watch anymore tv, which most likely put him in his bad mood. so we went through what we had to and then we were going to throw the kids in bed and call it a night.

so, sterling had to go pee after dinner but before ice cream and candles..still moody. sterling walks into the kitchen faster than i was prepared for, he see andrew bringing his bike in through the back door. he got the look....ohhhh yes! that's mine...it's hard to describe. his mood changed instantly! he was very excited about his bike and his other gifts. money from the grandparents, a shirt, helmet, fox and the hound 1 and 2, tangled and a shirt from us.





we are now just getting over our colds. hopefully this next week will be much better.
