june 13, 2013: my parents once again got to experience a high school graduation. they now have two kids that out of high school.
my brother's graduation was held at safeco field in downtown seattle. i'm not sure how many were in his graduating class. i could've counted...but that was too much work.
they had the graduates pictures rotating through.
almost everyone who attended. just mom and dad are not pictured.
caj getting his picture taken
caj with his diploma holder. they had to go and pick their diplomas up.
shaking hands with his principal
caj and his sisters
caj and his brother, who will be graduating next year.
caj and his favorite sister. he is wearing a candy and money lei. anyone who passed him commented on his money lei. my dad asked why not use 10's or 20's but then you would have to use more to look good. with ones, it looks like you have a lot of money there. i think it was like $35/40.
caj and his girlfriend, avery.
caj and his mother
caj with grandpa and gail.
we left for the graduation once the kids got home from school at about 3pm. it didn't start until 4.45pm but we had to load everyone, drive down there and park. maddie, tenny's girlfriend came to watch sterling and quincey.
we got to safeco field and stood in line for awhile and then we got to find our seat and then we got to sit and wait. it was hot in the sun. we listened to the speeches and entertained ourselves (the girls and i) by texting each other or our dad, who was at the end of our line.
we then took some pictures crammed up at the top of the stadium with everyone looking for their grad or trying to leave. which, was awful. everyone had to leave out right field.....just one door...could've been better planned.
my mom, caj, the girls and grandpa and gail went home in the van. they stopped at a mexican restaurant in issaquah on the way home. tenny, my dad and i walked to his work to drive home with him. i toured his new location and we picked up ollie. i texted my mom to see how much we should pay maddie, as i had no idea what the going rate is for them. i got a text back of $80. which my dad and i thought was a lot, but once we did the math, it made sense. 2 kids for 5 hours...that's $8 an hour per kid. so my dad was able to find that much in his bag. maddie didn't want it, but i made her take it anyway. turns out that cajun was the one who texted me back not my mom. so caj was going to have to pay my parents about $40 because he answered and made my parents pay too much. but maddie gave tenny some of the money back. so i guess caj doesn't owe my parents too much money anymore.
the kids had just gotten into bed when i got home. so i put them back in bed...but they did not want to go to sleep!
it was a good visit and we're glad we went!
