we left for seattle on june 6th which was tenny's 17th birthday. it wasn't a bad drive. it's about 7.5 hours without stops. but you have to stop for gas and to pee, so we around it up to 8 hours. then we stopped in spokane at a mcdonalds with a play place. i think we were there for like an hour. though i'm pretty sure it took me at least 5 mins to get my kids out of there! the climbing levels were too far apart for quincey's comfort, so sterling had to help her with that. at one point they took off their shoes, which is what they are suppose to do i know, but quincey didn't have socks on, and she would want her shoes off if sterling had his shoes off.
we continued on our way and got to my parents house at about 5pm. i think we were all excited to get there. quincey took two one hour naps. sterling didn't nap, but he did watch sumfs over and over.
june 10th
since my siblings were still in school, we didn't see them until after they got home or sometimes not until the evening time. once the kids are off the school, my mom goes back to bed. this is the time when sterling and quincey would get up. we would eat breakfast, get dressed maybe watch a movie depending on when i had gotten up and if i was ready for the day or not. quincey takes her nap over lunch time so sometimes we would go to the park until nap time or we would hang out at home. we would have nap time and it would be wonderful. then we would run errands (buying gifts, trader joe's target, small threads etc). we would hang out at home while my children play with or bother my siblings. my very own form of pay back, thank you. there would be dinner, then thankfully bedtime. i would put both kids down at the same time in the same room and it wasn't all that bad. they would stay in there and be fine. they would eventually fall asleep. i would sit and read and wait for the magic to happen.
then grandpa and gail arrived. we moved from the guest room to my youngest sisters room. the first night in there was good. they were good and went to sleep without a whole lot of fuss. the next two nights just got worse and then thankfully we were going home. the first night they didn't touch anything but the pillows. same with the second night, if i remember correctly. they were just took longer to fall asleep. the last night was the worst. they got into my sister's night stand plus all the blankets and pillows that she has in her room. they got pen on the bunk beds....really, i was ready to put them to bed in their own rooms.
anyway, we went to quite a few parks. there are three that we went to twice, but i tried to go to a new one everyday. now, we've gotten to the good part. pictures!
june 10th: snack time at the park: this one is just past challenger elementary (i think that was the name of it)
the actual play equipment:
they were going to race down the slide, but sterling didn't wait for quincey. so then he stood at the end of the slide, in the way.
quincey worked on her climbing skills. she is very good. of course she's got to keep up with sterling. my sister has a 3 bed bunk bed in her room and quincey would climb to the top. she would need some help getting down though.
quincey started going up, but then sterling came and over took her.
i tried to get a picture of sterling's freckles. it didn't turn out very well.....
here the kids are june 12th, eating muffins outside.
