we celebrated andrew's birthday yesterday. i had to keep asking him about what he wanted to eat. he finally settled on pie, but couldn't tell me what kind he wanted. i had thought of one that we had made as a crisp once. so i googled to see if i could find an apple huckleberry pie recipe. i found one out of the seattle times newspaper. i was going to surprise him but then i ended up tell him about it. he was torn. he wanted the apple huckleberry and he also liked the strawberry rhubarb crumb pie recipe i found.
being the nice wife that i am, i made them both! he took the strawberry one to work and we had the other one that night.

we sang happy birthday and opened gifts-working hand cream, cafe rio gift card, a promise of zupa's, a shirt and a pair of shorts, cable's gift card and food from trader joe's. it was a pretty laid back night.
