on sept 9th andrew got to celebrate his birthday. it didn't turn out as great as i had hoped, but there isn't a lot that you can do when you have a baby 4 days before. i know that i could have planned better, but you see, andrew has a wish list and it was hard to pick something off of there.
he can cross a few things off his list though. he got new shoes. actually i bought two pairs because i didn't know which ones he would like better. he picked the vans over the pumas. which, really didn't surprise me. he will use the money from the other pair for something, when i return them. he also got some bbq sauce from famous daves. it was their pineapple rage, which you can't buy in stores. i didn't think it was very much for what we got and for how long it will last (matt, my cousin thought it was a lot). he also got a magazine subscription from his parents and money from my parents. for our anniversary i told him that he could get a fish finder. it actually came in the mail yesturday.
i'm glad that my mom was there. she captured this moment that i LOVE. i've only seen andrew cry a few times. each of those times have been during major events in his life. like the birth of his daughter. (sorry i don't have pictures of that moment, as the camera was still in the truck)
my mom and i made the cake. my mom also made the hot fudge. sterling helped put the candles in. sterling thought it was funny that we were singing happy birthday.

when i was thinking about andrew's birthday a few days later....i thought about how for 2 years now he has had kind of lame birthdays. last year, he got great gifts (new fishing pole) but it was the day before i was scheduled to have my d&c. this year i gave birth four days before his birthday. so he got one great gift, but the rest were kind of boring. i better step it up next year.
