potty trained?

gosh, that title sounds like i'm talking about a puppy and not a three year old! for awhile there sterling was pretty much potty trained, but we would still ask if he had to go every hour. after so many "no"s we decided to back off a little. we still asked every couple of hours. what we would get:

us: sterling do you need to go potty (sign potty)?
sterling: no!

repeat through out the day. we would also just take him. if he fought it, then we wouldn't force it. but most of the time he would go.

until recently.

no matter how bad we can see that he needs to go, he won't go. or what makes us roll our eyes and chuckle: there he is holding himself, dancing etc and still the answer to the potty question is no! so he waits too long. then he drops whatever he is doing and runs to the bathroom. but like i said it's a little too late. uh oh.

this happened today. sterling ran to the bathroom, but was too late. so he took of his pants and undies. he came out half naked. i told him to go get his pants and underwear. he came back with undies on. and on correctly too. i told him again to go get some pants. he came back with his pjs.

i thought he put his shirt in the laundry, but i found it later on our bed. 

sorry about the end of this video. sterling wanted to see himself, so that's why it's a little crazy. below are pictures of sterling put on his pjs the rest of the way. i would have done another video, but the batteries we low, so i could only do pictures.

ugh! they are on wrong again!

take them off and try again. i helped him get his arm in the right hole. in the next 3 pictures, imagine him turning in circles as it tries to get his other arm in the hole.

sorry these two pictures were super zoomed in. but quincey was just sitting there watch me take picture of sterling. i know that in the above picture, sterling's but looks pretty big. it's not really in real life. 

note: he does really well at school. if he doesn't want to go than his teacher will get another boy to come and go and then sterling realizes that he does need to go. most of the time his spare clothes get wet from being outside or getting paint on them.
