rough week

on april 1st (this is no joke!), sterling went to bed sounding like he was coming down with something. i woke up a knot in my breast. all i could think was: not again! so i had to decide if i should get quincey up and have her nurse or just pump. i didn't want to do a lot of work at 2.30 in the morning, so i got quincey up. she didn't want to go back to sleep. sterling was up coughing. we were up several hours with the kids. 

monday morning. sterling had a dentist appt at 8.30am. i got up early to be able to get ready and get the kids ready by 8. i got quincey up and ready. then i tried and tried to get sterling up. he woke up for a little bit, but wanted to go back to bed. so i put him back in bed. he then come out and laid in his bedroom doorway. andrew gave him his blanket and pillow (see picture). i cancelled school and his appt. sterling slept until the early afternoon. quincey slept on her normal sleeping schedule. i don't feel well myself. i keep nursing quincey hoping and hoping that this feeling will go away. that the plug duct with unplug itself. repeat sunday night. not much rest for anyone. i went to bed feeling horrible with flu symptoms (ugh!). 

tues morning. since sterling had been up coughing, again. we kept him home from school. he only slept until 9.30 though. quincey got up at her normal time. which is about 8. i took my temp: 99.8. no biggie. but i still didn't fell all that great, so i called my dr and left a message. her nurse called me back in the early afternoon i think. she got the all my information and went to go talk to kelly. sterling was either watching a movie or asleep. quincey was napping so i laid down. ginny called back. she was calling in some antibiotics for me. lovely. this is what i didn't want to happen at all! 

(one month later...i try and remember what happened)

tues was the night that i didn't get much sympathy from andrew. here i was with two kids, flu symptoms (thanks mastitis!) and i should be resting and getting over it, but i wasn't. i can't remember if he made some comment about the house being messy or what, but i remember the feeling. next time, he can stay home from work and i'll stay in bed. he's not going to be using those sick days anyway. that night, sterling was up again. he woke up and andrew went to lay in his room with him. he then threw up all over his pillow and bed. 

wed. sterling stayed home again. i think he slept most of the morning again but was fine in the afternoon. it was a normal day for quincey. my first full day of antibiotics. my flu symptoms were gone, but i was still sore. this didn't go away until a few days later. 

thurs. sterling finally went back to school. we had a easter lunch at his school and then a easter egg hunt outside. 

it was a rough week. i think it took a little bit to recover from those 3 days.
