sterling now gets speech twice a week at school. one day the speech aide (roberta) from the school dist. comes and another day another one (kathy) comes. kathy bills sterling's insurance. he also enjoys watching the signing time dvds. i like to watch them with him, though not over and over and over.
sterling has learned his basic colors and enjoys pointing them out to me. i have been trying to get him to do it so i could tape him, but wouldn't do it for me. i put the rest of this 3T shirts (all short sleeve) in his drawer and found this truck one. he likes to point to them and tell me what the color was. finally! a way to tape his colors.
(you may want to turn down your volume. my voice is loud, as well as quincey's)
he can sign and say: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, white, black.
he can sign: brown, pink and grey. there is purple, but i'm not sure if he can sign it. i'll have to test him. since it's a rainbow color, he should know it.
he also likes to tell me what color my socks are. what colors are on his underwear. and sometimes he will say a color and i have to look for it because i have no idea where he saw it.
he is repeat more words. putting words together. we are working hard to get him to ask for what he wants. just a sign isn't going to cut it. he needs to make some sort of effort into using his voice. even if he just puts his lips together as if he was going to say it, that's enough.

I'm glad you have the internet again! I missed your blog updates and I now feel like I know what's happening with the Montana Jensens! xoxo
Sounds like he's doing well. Speech can be so frustrating sometimes. Good luck with the continued learning - and figuring out where he sees all those colors!
