our friends were getting rid of their entertainment center and i told him that i would take it off their hands. i wanted a kitchen for the kids, but to pay $150-200 for one....while i'm not sure which was is cheaper. ours is bigger....

andrew did most of the work since it's kind of his thing and i was still pregnant. so i would just go out to the shop and keep him company while he worked. sometimes.
i got some bead board at home depot. i thought we would replace the whole back, but andrew just wanted to replace the top part. i also got plexiglass for the oven there. the sink came from walmart. the knobs came from a second hand home goods place in missoula. i can't think of the name at the moment. as soon as i saw it i knew that's what i wanted and thankfully it was only like $2. the white, brown paint and primer we already had in the basement. i got a pint of paint from ace for $5. it was mixed wrong. it looks red in the pictures, but it's really a rust red/brown color. not what we had planned on, but for $5, it works! the black draw pulls are original and the ones on the fridge and oven came from home depot. the stove are some cds that andrew spray painted black.
we still needed knobs for the stove. andrew would've taken some off a stove at the dump, but there was an employee close by. then i remembered that a neighbor just got a new one. she still had their old one. so andrew took the knobs and then grabbed the rack from the oven too. he thought that he would have to cut it, but it fit perfectly!
the kids will play with it and most things end up in the oven!
