now that i have both kids in head start i'm getting my morning's to myself. granted it's not as long as i would've hoped for but i'll take what i can get. andrew takes quincey to school since she starts at 8.30. i take sterling because he doesn't start until 9. then i come home and do whatever i feel like doing.....chores, phone calls, chores, reading, dr appts, napping etc. i only have 3.5 hours to myself so before i know it, it's time to go pick the kids up. i don't want to make 3 trips into town, so i pick them both up at 1pm. i am hoping that sterling will be able to ride the bus this year. then i would only have to go get quincey at 2.30pm.
quincey has 7 other kids in her class. it's nice and small. she has two teachers(kathy who taught sterling the last year and half and michelle, who worked with sterling last year) and then an aide, ya-ya mary-jane (who has also in sterling's class last year). she enjoys going and she is ready to come home when i come and get her. if i stop to talk with her teachers, she is quick to remind me that it's time to go home.
sterling has 17 other kids in his class, which seems big, but i think it's much closer to the he will have in public school. he has two new teachers this year. many of his friends from last year have returned as well as some new ones. he's happy to be at school but hard to get there sometimes. i'm sure andrew is happy not having to deal with that this year! since i don't have to be to work like andrew, if sterling is lazy and doesn't get out of bed and is late to school then that's what happens. if i wasn't so pregnant i would wrestle him into his clothes and out the door, but i just can't at the moment. he's normally not ready to come home, but if i come and give him one minute to say good bye then he will come willingly.
